Sports Massage Team (SMT) Requirements:
Each S M T member MUST:

1. Be a member in good standing with FSMTA

2. Have active massage therapy license (LMT) in the State of Florida

3. Must have taken the FSMTA Official Sports Massage Team training course

4. Must have current professional liability Insurance

5. Be willing to adhere to policies and procedures and techniques as set
  down by the Sports Massage Committee / Director

6. Supply your own personal equipment needed to operate at any event

Sports Massage Team Dress Code:
Professionalism at team sporting events is of utmost importance. The uniform for members participating at events is as follows:

1. FSMTA LMT or SMT shirt or plain collared shirt. No t-shirts, tank tops, or halter tops permitted

2. Preferable navy blue or khaki pants or professional length shorts. No short-short
  or cut-offs, spandex, running shorts or jeans

3. Tennis or running shoes. No open toed sandals or flip flops

During the Basic Sports Massage Team Training course you will learn the following:

SPORTS MASSAGE TEAM APPLICATION

FSMTA Sports Massage Team Positions

Sports Massage Director/Committee:

This appointed position involves overall supervision of sports massage programs conducted by the Instructors and Chapter Teams;
 the creation and enforcement of policies and procedures pertaining to the Sports Teams and scheduling
and attending all Sports Massage Committee meetings.

Sports Massage Instructor:

Responsible for presenting FSMTA Pre & Post Event Sports Massage Training as outlined in the FSMTA Sports Massage Training Manual.

Chapter Coordinator:

Responsible for scheduling sporting events, coordinating fund-raising efforts and organizing other pertinent activities for the Chapter Team;
this includes communicating with sports community leaders and race officials to assure all documentation, equipment
and public exposure is made available.

Assistant Chapter Coordinator:

Maintain records of events, including team rosters and athlete sign-up sheets. Establish and maintain team member contact information.

Team Captain:

Communicate and act as spokesman between medical team and Chapter coordinator. Responsible for all action taken by the team on the day of an event.

Team Member:

The role of a team member is limited to soft tissue manipulation, active range of motion, hydrotherapy and other duties assigned by the Coordinator.

4. Attach a copy of you FL massage license (LMT)

5. Provide proof of your professional liability Insurance along with the application
