Florida Health Academy-Naples is a school that prides itself in providing a caring environment in which a student can challenge him or herself to grow in both knowledge, confidence and skill in the healing arts field. We teach massage but we more importantly teach people. Our curriculum is challenging, our instruction is top notch, and our graduates are successfully finding jobs in the community. They return to tell us that they got the best education here and are glad they chose our school.
Florida Health Academy-Naples is located in beautiful downtown Naples and was founded in 1990. It was originally The Acupuncture Center of Naples and was, at that time, a school for Acupuncture. Now, as the Florida Health Academy-Naples we educate students for both the Massage Therapy and Facial and Skin Care careers. Anita Gregg purchased the school in 2000 and is a firm believer in the benefits of complementary medicine and in the commitment to provide opportunities for quality education. Elizabeth Bloch, our Executive Director, has been in the healing arts field since 1984 as an educator, provider and business owner. She has the same values as the owner and has dedicated herself to providing an environment ripe for empowering students for personal growth, quality hands on education, and introducing the students to as much variety in the massage field as possible to complement their foundation skills and to evoke healing awareness.
We have relatively small intimate classes. We offer both day and evening programs. Our largest class would be around 18 students in the massage program and 8 in the Facial program. We offer Massage Therapy education and Esthetics / Facial Specialist / Skin Care training. We teach very solid core Anatomy and Physiology. Then, we bring leading professionals into our classes to enhance our program and to give the students the opportunity to see and experience new and different approaches and skills to enhance their work in the field. Facial / Esthetics students go on field trips to local practices and product retailers. Massage students have adjunct allied modalities (add on techniques above and beyond traditional Swedish Massage) train them in the classroom. On weekends we offer very interesting workshops, by leading professionals in our field, for expanding the scope of your practice or to earn CEU credits after graduation.
I think the best thing we are known for is the excellent education we provide. We have passionate instructors who love their work and love to teach. In the area we are well respected for turning out graduates who are well prepared to work with high quality foundations and skills, who have the confidence and expertise to start their careers and be assets to their employers from day 1.
