Freeing the Neck and Shoulders
TOUCH TO INFORM Seminars focus on the neurological, mechanical and healing aspects of movement with the science of Brain Mapping and sensory learning, along with other applicable concepts from The Feldenkrais Method® that can enhance functional outcomes for clients.
Freeing your Neck and Shoulders demonstrates how your head follows your eyes. The spine of your skeleton supports your head. Your shoulders are connected to your spine, neck, and head movements.
Using neurological concepts from The Feldenkrais® Method, participants will develop skills that indirectly quiet excessive tension in the muscles of the neck and shoulders by learning TOUCH TO OBSERVE, SUPPORT and INFORM around the torso so that the head is freer to move – and the shoulders feel more supple.

About our presenter:
Bonnie Kissam holds two Master’s degrees, in Physical Education/Dance (1973) and Exceptional Student Education (2009). She had the privilege of studying with Moshe Feldenkrais, D.Sc., during his final years of teaching in 1980-1981.  She maintained a private practice in Hartford, Connecticut for 20 years, which included being a Feldenkrais Practitioner® in physical therapy clinics, a teacher of Anatomy and Kinesiology for the Dancer at the Hartford Conservatory, and facilitator of numerous professional workshops.  Bonnie is a graduate of the Amherst Feldenkrais® Professional Training Program (1983), an Assistant Trainer, and a practitioner of the Anat Baniel Method® of Neuromovement for Children with Special Needs.
She developed the TOUCH TO INFORM Certificate program, a series of seminars for LMTs and other professionals seeking a deeper understanding of The Feldenkrais Method® to integrate concepts into their practice.  Touch to Inform has grown in the last 20 years from these 2 hour seminars — to a 90-hour Certificate program.  www.touchtoinform.com
