Membership in the FSMTA enhances your professional career and helps you succeed. FSMTA has been Florida's industry leader and preferred massage therapy association since 1939. Every membership is a 1-year commitment, valid for twelve months from the date your application is processed, and 100% of your dues go toward uniting, promoting, and protecting massage therapists and the profession. Florida LMTs are automatically enrolled in their local chapter at no extra cost. Whichever stage you're at — licensed, in business, in school, or heading into retirement — FSMTA has a membership built for you, shown below.

Payment Options

Choose the payment option that works best for you. Paying annually offers the best overall value, while our monthly auto-bill plan lets you spread dues out over the year with a 1-year commitment. A one-time $15 enrollment fee applies to new members and to memberships lapsed more than 30 days.

Associate Membership

Membership at FSMTA isn't limited to massage therapists — as a business, organization, school, or individual, you can join and receive many of our membership benefits while supporting FSMTA's work to advance and protect the profession. Associate Members also receive discounted convention booth space.

Massage schools also receive a listing on our Massage Schools page with a link to your website, a feature in our Massage Message magazine via the School Spotlight, the ability to post news and events through the School Blackboard in Massage Message, and the option for a member from your school to attend our Annual Convention and Trade Show at the membership rate. FSMTA recommends only our member schools.

Student Membership

Congratulations! You're on your way to becoming a massage therapist. With so much to learn at school, make one decision that will put your mind at ease — join FSMTA as a student member. Some chapters offer mentoring programs specifically for students getting started in the field.

Student membership is valid for twelve months at 60% off the LMT rate. Once you're licensed, contact us, and we'll upgrade you to full LMT membership at no charge for the rest of that year — at renewal, you'll move to the standard LMT rate. Please note that student membership benefits differ slightly from other membership types; see the Membership Benefits section above for full details.

Retired LMT Membership

Thank you for being a massage therapist and adding value to our profession through your work! We know that the decision to retire is not an easy one, and many massage therapists still want the opportunity to be involved and assist in some way. Retired LMT members can attend chapter meetings, volunteer, and enjoy FSMTA member benefits and discounts, with membership requiring proof of license retirement from the state in which the license was held.

Renewing Members

Is it time to renew your FSMTA Membership? Membership renewal invoices are emailed to you starting 90 days before your membership expiration date. Within the message is an option to view your renewal invoice, select the PAY button, and follow the prompts. Membership dues are non-refundable.

Membership DOES NOT include insurance. Members can purchase professional liability insurance at a special discounted rate through an affiliate. We keep membership and insurance separate to offer customized coverage and make it easier for more people to join and participate in the Association.
