Headaches: Assessment and Treatment
This 2-hour class introduces shortened segments of a longer 8-hour course. In this workshop, participants will learn comprehensive assessment and treatment approach for various types of headaches, including the Chinese medicine point of view. They will learn the anatomy, physiology and etiology of headaches, including its four types, locations, causes and connections with meridians of the body. Treatment options taught in this advanced comprehensive hands-on workshop include various multi-modality techniques to address variety of soft tissue impairments at all levels, including skin, fascia, muscle, periosteum, as well as meridians of the body, range of motion and diet. Participants will learn new arsenal of various techniques of Segment-Reflex massage, Trigger point therapy, Periostal massage, Acupressure therapy, Post- Isometric Relaxation, range of motion exercises, and lifestyle recommendations. This workshop will empower you with the ability to assess and successfully treat all types of headaches that your patients present with, within minutes! Using these unique approaches and techniques will allow you to achieve stable clinical results, gain greater respect from the medical community, and significantly expand your practice.

About the presenter:
Dr. Yusuf M. Mihaylov, AP, LMT is on staff at Jupiter Medical Center and has a successful Acupuncture and Wellness Specialists practice in Jupiter, Florida, based on over 32 years of experience in acupuncture, massage therapy, Chinese herbs, and homeopathy. He graduated Summa Cum Laude from Florida College of Oriental Medicine with a Master of Science in Oriental Medicine and a Bachelor of Science in Professional Health Studies. He then extended his studies with a clinical internship in Beijing, China in 2006. In addition, he graduated as valedictorian from the Swedish Institute of Massage Therapy in New York City and from the Beauty and Massage Institute in Vero Beach, Florida, each deepening his already- extensive knowledge in bodywork. Prior to coming to the United States in 1992, Dr. Mihaylov also completed Physical Rehabilitation studies at the Moscow Institute of Medical-Biological Problems with an emphasis on medical massage, bone-setting techniques and therapeutic exercises. In addition, Dr. Mihaylov is a Continuing Education Provider for the State of Florida, New York
State and the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork, as well as being an international speaker. He also appears as a keynote speaker to educate the general public, advancing the cause of disease prevention and wellness. He has appeared on multiple radio shows and in various newspaper articles; has been involved with the Palm Beach Chapter of the Florida State Massage Therapy Association, an honored presenter at the AMTA and FSMTA conventions; and has received an award from the Palm Beach Chapter as the Licensed Massage Therapist of the Year.
